CEIBS Campus network covers all campus buildings.

 

Wireless: The SSID name of CEIBS wireless network is "CEIBS-Air". And here is a sample guide tells how you can configure your laptop.

 

The Internet Protocol of client computer should be set to DHCP mode to get access to the CEIBS Campus Network. Every computer on campus can be connected to Internet directly through the CEIBS campus network and it's free. All on-wall outlets marked with XXDXX or DXX are network outlets. But using some of P2P software, such as BT, eMule to download is prohibited.

 

By default, network in classroom is closed during the class.

During the control time, the network in the classroom will be closed from:

8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

The network is open during the rest of time. 

 

Non-registerred computers only can get access to HTTP service, secured HTTP service, FTP service and POP3/SMTP service.

 

For security purpose, the system will screen some special network services which may be system vulnerabilities, for instance, VPN service is screened by the system. To supplement existing internet service, Business Centre at 1st floor of Dorm 5 provides fully internet accessing service through standalone ADSL line. You can't access internal resources from outside CEIBS, except for the resources published to Internet.

 

Google will be temporarily blocked when internal user seeks sensitive content by Internet Service Provider, some sensitive website will be blocked as well.
